Fundraising activities
Fundraising events can be very rewarding
and great fun, and the number of activities is unlimited.
For companies, schools and youth clubs this is an excellent
opportunity to boost the group morale, to increase the team
spirit, and to improve the image to the outside world.
How to
get started?
Join our mission and contact
us. Ask for support and set up a committee with other
volunteers - never underestimate the value of volunteers
and helpers. The key is to be innovative, to think of something
inspiring, but also easy to do. Most importantly, have fun!
Remember to send us your stories and photographs so that
we can recognise you in one of our next Newsletters.
Best practices
Most people are prepared to
give and the easiest way is just to ask. A few examples of
successful fundraising activities:
- Sport events:
sponsored walk, football game and golf tournament
- Board games or Quiz
evening: invite friends or colleagues over to
play Scrabble, Bridge, Monopoly or a quiz and charge an
entrance or a game fee.
- Auction or Chance to
Win or Tombola:
auction (sponsored) items at a (staff) party, a gala,
events
- Flea market:
sales of your unwanted belongings and second-hand goods
(clothing, toys, books, furniture)
- Recycling:
collect waste paper, empty ink cartridges or bottles and
sell them to recycling companies.
- Donate your annual budget
for the Year-end, Easter or Valentine presents and/or
cards to BEYOND THE MOON and inform your business
partners and staff via e-mail or a letter.
- "A trip for a trip":
when organising a trip abroad (or to the theater or the
movies) for which you receive a group discount, charge
the full amount to the participants. Be honest and tell
them why you are doing it. You donate the price difference
to BEYOND THE MOON.

WHAT YOU SHOULD
KNOW WHEN YOU SUPPORT US
- We prefer bank transfers, however
in case of cheque, please make sure that your cheque is
made payable to BEYOND THE MOON (and not to an individual)
and send it within 3 months (cheques have a limited validity)
to the correct address.
- Never make any promises in our name
or represent yourself as an employee or associate of our
organisation.
- Clearly state that your activities/events
are "to support" or "to
benefit" BEYOND THE MOON.
- We will use your donation(s) according
to our own judgement and where it is the most needed for
our families. Should you want your contribution to be
used for a specific purpose (e.g. a family from your community),
please let us know.
