On 17 May 2012, Wyndham Hotel Group's head office in London held a Charity Bake Sale. All team members were invited to bake and eat homemade cakes. These cakes were priced up per slice and all proceeds worth 230 GBP (+/- 287 EUR) were donated to Beyond the Moon.

You only need 15 minutes to change your life, as well as the lives of many families with a sick child. Fitindex (Belgium) wants to measure the physical condition of Belgian individuals and groups and will annually communicate a national fit index number. A person's first fitness profile will be made on a complimentary basis and will be determined by experienced coaches. A screened person will then receive his/her own health compass free of charge. For each following test (those will be charged) 1 EUR will be donated to Beyond the Moon.

On 9 May 2012, the Wyndham Hotel Group received the first Beyond the Moon "Emerald Award". For many years, the hotel chain and its business associates are loyal sponsors of Beyond the Moon and have offered an unforgettable holiday to 65 families with a sick child. The families come from various countries where the company operates (19 Germany, 14 United Kingdom, 10 Ireland, 8 Switzerland, 6 Malta, 5 Belgium, 1 Hungary, 1 Portugal and 1 Czech Republic). We thank everyone who contributed to this success and look forward to working together with this company for many more years.

Wyndham Hotel Group held a ludic fundraising action during the dinner at their Brand Conference in Milan. A cartoonist drew several guests, who at the end of the evening, could buy their own caricature drawing in aid of Beyond the Moon. A nice sum of 600 EUR was collected.

The Chamber of Commerce / Entrepreneurs' Organisation of East-Flanders, Belgium held a new year's reception for the regional business men and women. The guests were asked to make a small contribution to Beyond the Moon. For the second year in a row, they sponsored a family vacation. They took the time to meet the family and tell them the good news.

On 20 April 2012, Wyndham Hotel Group's head office team in London held a "Big Lunch". Each staff member contributed to this lunch by bringing a dish to be shared with all the employees. They ended up with an assortment of savoury & sweet dishes and some delicious homemade items, which were laid out buffet style on the "Big Lunch" table. A flat rate of 3,00 GBP per person was charged for this lunch (average sandwich price at the supermarket) and all the proceeds, worth 138,25 GBP (+/- 172 EUR), were donated to Beyond the Moon.

On 30 March 2012, Wyndham Hotel Group's head office team held a raffle of unwanted Christmas gifts donated by the team. The tombola raised 160 GBP (+/- 193 EUR) for Beyond the Moon.

The Ramada Encore Charity Bike ride in the UK was back and bigger than ever! On Wednesday 7 March 2012, and for the second year in a row, the 13 Ramada Encore hotels of BDL Management UK got on their bikes and cycled as many miles as possible in 12 hours to raise as much money as they could in support of Beyond the Moon. They organised various fundraisers before and during this sportive endeavour. They cycled 2184 miles (i.e. a virtual bike challenge of 3516 km, equal to the distance from Ramada Encore Inverness via each of the 13 Ramada hotels down to Disneyland® Resort Paris and back up to the head office in Glasgow). Each team cycled a minimum of 168 miles. Once again, it was a big success that generated sufficient funds to offer two more British families with a sick child a Beyond the Moon holiday. Our partnership with C&A Belgium / Luxembourg started in 2010. As a result of a year-end action for the past two years, we were able to count on their generous financial support and offer 20 families, with a seriously ill child, a 'Beyond the Moon' vacation; with at least another 17 family holidays in the pipeline. On 12 March 2012, we handed out our Silver Award (=20 families) and we were pleasantly surprised when Gina de Ryck (Head of Regional Marketing) made the following statement: "We are very pleased with the feedback that we receive and we would like to extend our partnership for a further two years. Beyond the Moon is very family orientated. This philosophy and approach perfectly fit C&A's philosophy and our business wise focus on the same audience. We look forward to making together many more families happy!"

On 4 February 2012, Ladies Circle Oudenaarde organised a comedy evening with Youssef El Mousaoui. The proceeds of the evening went to two charities, amongst another Beyond the Moon. We received a great contribution of 4000 EUR.  The ladies decided to nominate themselves a family with a sick child, who can benefit from a Beyond the Moon vacation.

Like in 2010, in 2012 Ultragenda gave us once again a donation of 1500 EUR. Thank you!

The JustFit.be fitness clubs sold year calendars 2012 to their club members in aid of Beyond the Moon and also asked their suppliers to make a donation. Dick Vande Vyvere, Managing Director at JustFit.be, handed out a cheque of 4942 EUR to our Ambassadress Gella Vandecaveye. We sincerely thank the JustFit.be management, their club members and generous suppliers.
