Beyond the Moon is a non-profit organisation that is committed to safeguarding and respecting the privacy of all its website users. We ensure that the personal information you provide to us is treated confidentially.

Although most of the information on this site is available without having to communicate any personal data, it is possible that the user is requested to communicate personal data for certain purposes.

1. USE OF PERSONAL data

Your personal data (name, address, phone number, email) will only be used:

  • to process and follow up on orders for promotional material and other issues 
  • to respect and fulfil the obligations under each agreement you have made with us
  • to anticipate and resolve problems related to our services
  • to process and follow up on your subscription to our newsletter and/or events
  • to examine and give an answer to a vacation request from a family with a seriously ill child. In this case, additional personal data will be required.

3. personal data RETENTION

Your personal data will be kept for as long as it is required by law. We keep your contact details for statistical, auditing, accounting and archiving purposes, for future events (*), as well as for inspections by the Federal Public Service Finance Department, which grants us the recognition as an organisation that can issue tax-deductible certificates. (*) Beyond the Moon occasionally organises events to which our families, sponsors and partners are invited.

4. SECURITY

For the security of the personal data we process, we use security procedures, amongst others, to prevent unauthorised persons from accessing that information on our computers. However, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our website; any transmission is at your own risk.

5. Publications

To inform the general public about what Beyond the Moon realises with the collected funds, we publish quotes, with or without photo, from the testimonials of families having given their consent, on our website, on our Facebook page and other social networks (LinkedIn, Twitter), in our promotional material and our annual overview.  In the above-mentioned communication, we also mention fundraisers and other actions, with or without photos, organised by third parties in aid of Beyond the Moon and for which we have received a publishing authorisation.

6. YOUR RIGHTS

As determined by law, you have the right to apply for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (for which we may charge a small administration fee). This is called a ‘data subject access request’. You can make a request by sending a letter to the below-mentioned address. We may require further information from you in order to verify your identity, before disclosing any personal data to you.

You also have the right to have any inaccurate data about you corrected, added or removed that you think is no longer correct. We want to make sure that your personal data is accurate and up-to-date. In that case, please send us a letter or an e-mail.

Beyond the Moon cannot be held responsible for the privacy policy or the privacy practices of third party websites, even if
