“We never dared to predict that this bicycle tour would generate so much solidarity and enthusiasm among family, friends, as well as customers and relations of Garage Special in such a short time,” says Boudewijn Geentjens, co-owner of Garage Special.
“Heart-warming, emotional and a sense of great accomplishment. Those are the things I will remember and cherish as a result of this cycling tour for a wonderful cause,” added Nest.
Nest, Jan, Boudewijn and their supervisors proudly presented a check worth €4,420 to Pascale Somers, Beyond the Moon Manager. After Pascale’s thank you speech, the check was spontaneously and surprisingly increased by € 580 by Eddy Geentjes, co-manager of Garage Special, to round it up to € 5,000. Thanks to this bicycle activity, a family with a sick child will yet be offered an unforgettable all-in Beyond the Moon family vacation. “Isn’t that a nice icing on the cake?,” concluded Jan.
We are extremely grateful for the generosity of many clients, friends, families and relations.
On 4th September, the 84-year-old Nest De Vries from Grobbendonk, together with his younger brother-in-law Jan Adriaenssen (67) from Vorselaar and friend Boudewijn Geentjens (48) from Wechelderzande set out on a bicycle journey of 1240 km from Wechelderzande to Lourdes. They reached their destination on day 10. Their sportive efforts were sponsored by business associates, family and friends in favour of Beyond the Moon.
