Corinthia Palace Hotel's Administration Manager, Marisa Xuereb, dedicates much of her life to charity projects. She is the catalyst for some very successful fundraisers at this hotel. Much of Marisa's decision to help others stems from the fact that her son, Adam, has special needs. It was Adam's birth and childhood that actually inspired her to start the charity work that she is now so dedicated to. It wasn't until 2006 that Marisa first heard about Beyond the Moon. She really can't picture her life without some sort of connection with our charity.
"I get so much satisfaction from helping others. I can't imagine my life or job without Beyond the Moon," says Marisa. "I'm very grateful to my employer for giving me the space to work on charitable projects - whether that's through our annual fairs, second hand furniture sales or internal fundraisers. The whole team has really taken Beyond the Moon into their own hearts and grown to love it too, which is something I truly appreciate. From my own family to my family here at the hotel, I know we all look forward to raising more funds for more Maltese families with a sick child in order to offer them a carefree Beyond the Moon vacation."
Marisa oversees the fundraising efforts and has helped raise over €90K for Beyond the Moon, enabling 22 Maltese families to enjoy a cost-free holiday. On 2 May, Marisa received the "Ambassador Award" with corresponding certificate in recognition and gratitude from Pascale Somers, Manager and Inspirer of Beyond the Moon. "Marisa truly deserves this recognition. Her involvement goes beyond raising funds. She even looks for Maltese families who are eligible for a Beyond the Moon vacation. She contacts and assists them whenever they need help for their vacation of a lifetime. She is a humble person who is very dedicated to take care of others. A person with a big warm heart and an example for many of us," said Pascale Somers. (photos by Studio Konnect)
Note: Sandra Chetcuti was the first Beyond the Moon Ambassador to be nominated in Malta back in 2013. She continues to be dedicated to our charity and keeps her position.
