An honor that leaves us speechless… On Thursday, June 5, 2025, Pascale Somers, our Founder and Manager, was honored as a laureate of the Stichting Gabriëlla Moortgat. This recognition celebrates her many years of tireless dedication and the heartfelt commitment with which she — together with a small and passionate team — has supported families with a seriously ill child since May 18, 2005.

Pascale shares: “The phone call on January 24, 2025, from one of the Foundation’s board members, Guy De Roovere, came completely unexpectedly. I was surprised, deeply moved, and honored. And above all, sincerely grateful. Anyone who knows me knows that I do not like putting myself in the spotlight. I prefer keeping both feet firmly on the ground — simply doing what is needed for those who need it most. But this recognition forces me to pause and reflect on what has been built. Twenty years of dedication… that truly means something. It reminds me that there is strength in long-term commitment, in staying faithful to a mission. And that female empowerment deserves to be visible. Not to place myself on a pedestal, but to show what is possible when you follow your heart and continue with dedication. So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart! I share this recognition with everyone who helps make this story possible. It is the icing on the cake of our 20th anniversary!”

Stichting Gabriëlla Moortgat, founded by the granddaughter of the founder of Duvel Moortgat brewery, honors women every two years who make an important contribution to society. After her passing in 2012, the mission continued.
