Over the past few years, we have hardly been able to go on outings as a family because Lou’s health problems were too severe. Lou was very often in hospital and was unable to attend school for a long time. Yet she kept dreaming of a magical holiday.

That is why it was such wonderful news when we heard that we would be going to Disneyland Paris. The excellent preparation and the caring support of the kind Beyond the Moon staff and the Wish Program at Disneyland made this trip truly unforgettable. You really feel seen and supported as a family, both during the preparations and throughout the weekend itself.

Everywhere we went, everyone was incredibly kind, and there was always consideration for Lou’s wheelchair and her specific needs. The Disney Wish Program lanyard that Lou wore around her neck was recognised everywhere and welcomed with great warmth. Lou had undergone a medical procedure very recently, and without all the extra care and kindness, we would never have dared to plan this trip. But now, we felt safe and reassured to do so.

Beyond the Moon gives hope, energy and joy — three things that have meant so much to us as a family. It has given us the strength to continue facing the medical challenges with renewed courage, it has recharged our batteries, brought us even closer together as a family, and has given us moments of light. Not long ago, we would never have dared to hope that we could experience this together. Thank you for the HOPE you brought into our hearts.
