Each interactive 3D mural is unique and differs in detail for each children's room and hospital. They meet a fixed theme and a list of criteria carefully compiled by Beyond the Moon.
The theme is a family (holiday) activity brought to life by an animal family. The colourful, fun-filled and animated scenes provide a distraction during a hospital stay that is often synonymous with stress, worry and loneliness. We apply the "trompe-l'oeil" (translation: deceiving the eye) painting technique. A 3D depth effect that optically creates more space in the room. The child can carefree dream away and forget for a while the traumatic medical world.
Our 3D murals tell stories with an underlying message and stimulate interaction with the sick child. After all, the sick child and his family cannot enjoy such an activity at that time. Nevertheless, our murals encourage them to hope for such a family experience. As message, we emphasize on never giving up hopes, nor dreams!
“The 3D see-through paper tear, beyond which the depth perception of each scene can be viewed, is the hallmark of our painting project. This design will be implemented for our interactive 3D murals in all participating hospitals, so that it is immediately recognised and accredited to the works of Beyond the Moon”, emphasises Pascale Somers, Manager Beyond the Moon.
